CCSA visual arts teacher Kelly Nicholson will lead you in drawing your very own city block. You will have the opportunity to design your city, from the ground up, while CCSA student architects demonstrate the creation of their own urban masterpieces. This lesson will show how perspective plays a role in every aspect of art and life, not limited to drawing. All you need for this workshop is a piece of paper, a pencil, a ruler, and your creativity.

In preparation for National Poetry Month in April, CCSA middle school students and their teacher Cherrone Hamm will lead you through a lesson in blackout poetry. Whether you consider yourself an aspiring, amateur or professional creative writer, this will be an opportunity to learn this fascinating technique of incorporating imagery and isolating single words or phrases within an existing text to form a thought provoking poem of your own.
